oh apparently sarong party girl put up some picture of hers and then it causes big hoo-haa in small conservative island of singapore. haha the poor constricted press have got nothing to write about really, so when something so bold so brash as a solitary naked body part appears on a blog belonging to a singaporean, everyone gets all hyped up. totally off the spg point, I never associated singapore with porn stars. then i hear of annabel chong. she was allegedly the first female porn star to make famous anal love-making (it sounds gross but at least nicer than a certain farking). Yeah it was pretty intersting, the way her life turned out because of the choices she made. Her mother and father were typical singaporean parents, annabel was raised in a typical singaporean family, tution, piano lessons, church-going parents, elite school (hwa chong jc) yeah then she went to england did some socio course fresh change of mindset got really intersted in gender and sexuality, also suffered unfortunate incident- gang raped then she decided to be a porn star, without her parents knowledge.
When they found out, they were understandably heartbroken, how could their sweet little girl do such a thing, objectify her body for the pleasure of men, even more unthinkable, hold a competition to see how many men could gang-bang her at one shot. You have footage of men grinning, dicks hanging out, waiting in neat line to bang annabel wincing away in im not sure pain or pleasure, giving the occasional groan. It was quite a disturbing sight, i didnt know what to feel, of a girl doing something like that, it looked painful and humilating, but perhaps somewhere in that heap of outward pain and humiliation, there was pleasure and satisfaction? Or perhaps it was a defining moment that women could as fuck as freely as men could, or were the gender sex roles fixed from the start, active versus passive?
I dont know what was the motivating factor in that, really. Maybe she wanted to prove the point that what men do, women also can. Stirred on by the rape incident,I.E, Men are glorified for sleeping around whereas Women are labelled sluts for doing exactly the same thing. Regardless of her actions, it is kinda hard to erase that double standard. She had a reason for doing what she did, i guess, so i dont see her as a slut. However many narrow-minded people do but who are they to judge.
I wonder where she is now, whether shes back in the porn trade or exploring a different side of life. I was watching her documentary (with amy!) and she was really one of the last people on earth whom you would expect to become a porn star. I mean, she was through and through singaporean. Singapore = Clean Green Garden City Sans Porn. Singaporean= Tution, Assessment Book, EM1, Good School, Good Job. You get the picture.
Just some late-night thoughts. its 2.50 am in the morning and i really must go to sleep now if i were to wake early tomorrow morn for my long-awaited hair cut.
I've got camp this saturday and i really hope it'l be heaps of fun although we'l be camping out in the cold. I'm looking forward to watching Lost tomorrow cos its a way cool show. I said some unkind things to my mum unintentionally today and kinda really regret it now, hope things will get better in the morning. I also didnt vacum the floor as my mum told me to do so yeah feeling guilty for heaps of stuff. i cant wait to learn driving cos i really want to drive the public transport system here is Shit. Did i tell you already?
