hit by a train

my dad and i walked to the train station this morning but missed the 7.39am train. so we validated our tickets anyway, and waited for the next one at 7.44am. so a few mins after, it arrived. we hopped on hurriedly, it was the early morning peak hour period and we didnt wnna get caught btween those huge train doors. the train was packed. and there were so many commuters. however, the train didnt move. thinking it was just a minor glitch, we waited, and waited. and then we heard the announcement that the train was being held temporarily, and that service wld resume very shortly. so we waited, and waited somemore. and another train came on the other side, and my dad asked me to get on the other one cos i was late and it might move first. so i did, and we spent abt 20 mins in total waiting in stationary trains.
a while later we were informed that there had been an accident at east camberwell, and that all city-bound trains were gonna be held till further notice. arggh. i thought. some stewpid accident thing to do with the network or some technical problem.... my dad and i cldnt take a bus to box hill b/c one of the three trains stuck at the station was on the tracks... so the cars and buses cldnt go past...
wth. had to walk all the way back home, where dad gave me a lift to sch...
alright i'l cut this whole long story short. i came back from school and my mum told me a 15-yr old girl was killed on the train tracks at the east camberwell station at 7.45AM this morning. which means, when my dad and i saw the 7.39am train leave, she was still alive. while my dad and i hopped onto the 7.44am train in a kaisu hurry, it was the last minute of her 15 years of life.
details are not yet released on how the hell she got run over but it was shocking when i learnt what happened. 10,000 commuters got stranded on the belgrave and lilydale line... and one little girl died this morning.
moral of the story is to live each day as if it were your last. tell your loved ones u love them, grab all opportunities u can. u might be alive one day and dead the next. u never know when it is your turn to go.
may she rest in peace.
