can you read me; and then be me.

you know i was just thinking how perspectives can be so different
you and me;

we are made up of the same raw material;
eye, bone and lung.

some people merely exist,
some live a life worth a million rosepetals and all things beauty.

contrary to some popular theory;
its your choice really.

do you think you are worth it?

like the slogan of multi-million dollar cosmetic giant L'oreal;
those famous words;
they seem to touch so closely
our inner human core

at the same time carefully constructed;
specifically manufactured
to induce many insecure,
helpless women in need of self-assurance;

decorated by the media and the celebrity pitchfork
with the hope (false or otherwise) of potentially being more beautiful;
to purchase crimson red lipstick so that more men will fall for you;
or green miracle cream in a jar to transform you
into a flawless gorgeous being
like the picture of the model on the label.

one argument.

of course it does not mean to go without all form of grooming.
because in order to live a fulfilled life,
you need to look good, feel good and smell good
we buy cream to beautify outer selves
so our inner selves will feel even better.

and then comes the debate on boob jobs/breast augmentation;
whatever you name the mutilation
but that is another story.

so whats so wrong with all of the above?
nothing.

advertising makes you alive
the beat, the buzz, the BUY Buy buy.

consumerism sucks us in whole
we live and we breathe
we function and we survive.

so should anything else matter?
our thinking sets us apart from that boy next door

that boy and his mind
that boy and his little mind on his bicycle
that boy and his little mind on his bicycle who aspires
to be strong like his daddy
to be strong like his daddy who passed away
from a heart attack 3 days ago.

that boy and his mind
will open doors to his world
and his perspective
and your new-found one.

you are who you think you are
i think therefore i am?

Now you trying to make everything sound like a poem...=P But it IS true that we are what we make ourselves out to be. But what we do not know is that not all of us have the ability to focus on our goals and work hard enough to reach it. It's ironic that all of us have the POTENTIAL but not the ABILITY to make use of that POTENTIAL. Kinda like "you can't have your cake and eat it too"...of course unless you're a baker..or really really rich. =P

"What the Mind can concieve, the heart can believe, the body can achieve." It's true.

Do anyone dare to believe that they can truly be great? And if you believe, what difference and pressure would that make in that person's life?
