For the Christian in You- Speaking in Tongue(s).

i like the song sway by bic runga
and the song i try by macy gray
had crepes at e.g. cafe awhile ago.
crepes are just like pancakes and they are easy to make.
one day i shall atempt to make crepe(s).

hallelujah for the lord god almighty reigns- agnus dei is a nice song too.
christian, yeah. as you would've guessed.
i feel mighty uncomfy in a church where everyone speaks in tongues.
maybe its due to an upbringing in a methodist church (and school).
but just yestd when i was randomly flipping thru the bible i landed up at
1Chorintians (shit think i spelt that wrong)chapter 14.
it says the gift of tongues is sacred only meant for you and God.
the gift of prophecy is far greater.
it can edify a church. Yelling at the top of your voice in tongues in a church
for show or otherwise is not appropriate. Newcomers become very intimidated.
Even i, a so-called 'seasoned' christian, (but always questioning)never liked the idea of people speaking in weird voices during church service.
its disruptive and makes me feel immensely disturbed.
How would it feel like to a non-christian?

by the way, candleburn by dishwalla is also very nice.
sad, reflective. very sad, very reflective. with nice beat.
melancholic, really.

the word nice means mediocore, plain and very ordinary.
you use the word nice when you cant find anything else pleasant to describe something.
i don't want to ever be described as 'being nice'. i want to be exceptional, able, capable, strong you get the picture.

but when i say that candleburn by dishwalla is nice, i really do mean its damn good.
damn freaakinnng awesome. ;)
do i not contridict myself sometimes? hehh.

hey, i think u are spot-on on the speaking of tongues... even during the Pentacost, where "they were all filled with the Holy Ghost, and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance" (Acts 2:4), the people were able to understand one another, "because that every man heard them speak in his own language" (Acts 2:6b)... growing up in a Church too, i feel weird whenever i attend these Churches which speak i tongue... absolutely dun understand what they are talking about...

anyway if u are interested in a Bible-believing fundamental Church in melbourne, drop me a mail anytime!

cheers
